Dr Jade Elliston
Clinical Psychologist
Jade is a Clinical Psychologist based in South Oxfordshire. She has eight years’ experience in the NHS working with individuals and families affected by mental health difficulties across the lifespan and in both community and inpatient settings. She also has experience working in the voluntary sector supporting people to access social activities and opportunities for improving independence and self-esteem. Since she was awarded her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsych) from the University of Oxford in 2023, she has worked in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
Jade is experienced in working with children and young people struggling with various forms of anxiety (including generalised and social anxiety and OCD) and depression, as well as those who have experienced traumatic life events. She also has experience adapting therapeutic work to individuals with either diagnosed or suspected autism and ADHD, and is keen to learn about young people’s strengths and interests, alongside what they are finding challenging.
Jade is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), including elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and compassion-based approaches. She has also undertaken additional training in the DNA-v approach (the adolescent model for ACT) and Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET). Jade is skilled in drawing upon different models and approaches in her work with young people, as well as those supporting them, to consider how mental health difficulties could be maintained and potential ways of moving towards a meaningful life.
