Information about your arrangements for psychological assessment and/or therapy

Information about your arrangements for psychological assessment and/or therapy

We start with a 30-minute conversation with parents or caregivers, to understand from your perspective what you see going on at home. We listen to your concerns and gain insight into your child’s needs and challenges.

Following an initial meeting with parents or caregivers, we conduct a 90-minute session with your child in a supportive, welcoming environment. This allows us to get to know them - beyond their psychological needs and to learn more about the reasons they have come to see us.

After gathering all the necessary information, we discuss plans of care and provide a letter outlining our understanding of the problem and specific recommendations for the most appropriate way forward to meet your child/ family’s needs.

If we decide that it will be helpful to see your child for regular therapy sessions, or to see you for ongoing parent consultation sessions, we will offer you time slots as appropriate, taking into account both of our schedules. Typically, each therapy session lasts 50-minutes. The number and frequency of sessions will be reviewed throughout therapy, and there is no commitment required to attend a set number of sessions.

Fees

Fees

Our individual assessments are charged at £390 and include a summary letter and recommendations with our thoughts about what your child needs. The fee per treatment session is £130 per hour, and remains unchanged throughout treatment. From time to time an incremental increase in fees may be implemented, but this is not generally more often than once per year, with a one-month period of notice given for any planned increase.

The fee should be settled with the therapist at each session by cash, cheque, direct bank transfer or via your private healthcare insurance. We ask that all fees are settled at or before your appointment.

Cancellations

Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a charge of 100% of the total fee. Cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur 50% of the cost of the session.

If you have a holiday or other arrangement coming up which interferes with our sessions, please give us as much notice as possible. We will do likewise, should we need to rearrange our schedule, and when we take annual leave. If we are unable to conduct the session, we will give you as much notice as possible.
